Every young person wants a good career and a handsome salary. The country's economy is growing fast and digital change is under way everywhere, so pay packages in the job market have risen considerably. According to recent surveys related to the employment sector and reliable industry data, people working in some sectors are getting lakhs of rupees a month and packages of crores of rupees a year. Those who have just begun their careers, or are thinking of changing jobs, need to know what different jobs pay.

In the corporate world, the highest salaries go to the top officers of companies, that is, the CEO, CFO and CTO. In large companies, MNCs and global capability centres, their annual package ranges from Rs 2.40 crore to Rs 5.50 crore or more. In monthly terms, the gross salary of experienced executives is roughly Rs 20 lakh to Rs 45 lakh. They are paid this because the responsibility for the whole company and major business decisions rests with them.

The medical field has always been regarded as prestigious and lucrative. Senior surgeons, cardiologists and anaesthesiologists working in the country's large private and corporate hospitals top the earnings. The monthly salary of an experienced medical specialist ranges from Rs 2 lakh to Rs 10 lakh. The annual package of the country's most senior and very popular surgeons goes from Rs 1 crore to Rs 3.5 crore.

In the IT and tech sector, AI and machine learning engineers are currently in the highest demand. With the digital revolution and advances in technology, companies are paying these professionals generously. The starting monthly salary of such an engineer begins at Rs 1.5 lakh and goes up to Rs 6 lakh a month. With more experience and better skills, the annual package easily reaches Rs 18 lakh to Rs 72 lakh.

In finance, investment banking is considered the most attractive and glamorous job. These bankers handle companies' big deals, IPOs and mergers. It is the first choice of young people graduating from the country's leading business schools such as the IIMs. The average monthly salary of an investment banker ranges from Rs 2 lakh to Rs 10 lakh. The responsibility is heavy and the working hours are long, but the annual package goes from Rs 20 lakh to Rs 1.2 crore.

Among government jobs, the Chief Justice of India and other judges get the highest salaries in the country. Under the current pay structure, the Chief Justice of India gets a fixed salary of about Rs 2.80 lakh a month and other judges about Rs 2.50 lakh a month. The maximum salary of the country's top civil servants, the IAS and IPS officers, is also Rs 2.50 lakh a month. Although this pay may seem low compared with the private sector, facilities such as official accommodation, a vehicle, security and a lifelong pension make it the best government job in the country.
