The two main shooters told Mumbai Crime Branch the firing was meant to spread fear in Bollywood, a claim police are examining.
A new and startling turn has come in the firing case linked to actor Tiger Shroff. The main shooters, Phool Singh and Rehan, have claimed during police questioning that they did not intend to kill Shroff. According to them, the shots were fired only to build their terror in Bollywood and to frighten him.
The claims emerged during intensive questioning by the Mumbai Police Crime Branch. The accused repeated the same statement before the Crime Branch. So far these are only their own statements, which the police are examining.
The accused told police that when the incident took place, Shroff was playing a football match on a ground. According to their statement, he was very close to the shooter at that time. Notably, he was clearly visible while playing on the ground, and no bouncer or security guard was posted around him.
On this basis, the accused told police that had they really wanted to kill Shroff, they would have attacked during the football match, when there was no security. They say they only wanted to spread fear of themselves in Bollywood and to frighten him. For this reason, by their claim, they had been asked to carry out the firing.
The Mumbai Police Crime Branch is now examining the claims of Phool Singh and Rehan seriously. Police are also trying to find out who the real mastermind behind the entire conspiracy is. They are looking from different angles at the questions of on whose instructions the firing was carried out and what the main motive behind it was.
For now, what the accused have said is only their own claim, and the police have not found it to be true. Only as the investigation proceeds will it become clear what was really behind the incident and who was behind it.
