There is big news for candidates waiting for a railway job. For the first time this year, the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB), Ajmer, has been given the responsibility of conducting the station master recruitment exam. According to some reports, the board may issue the official recruitment advertisement this month for more than 1,250 station master posts.

Station master recruitment is being held separately for the first time. Until now it was done under RRB NTPC, but the rules have been changed this year.

According to reports, there are currently 21 railway recruitment boards in the country. Conducting the exam for candidates linked to all 21 boards is being seen as a major achievement for RRB Ajmer. More than 2.5 million candidates are expected to take part in this recruitment.

Sanjeev Kumar, chairman of the Railway Recruitment Board, Ajmer, said the notification for this recruitment is likely to be issued this month. More than 1,250 posts will be filled, and the recruitment will be for Group C.

The Railway Recruitment Board has indicated that, for the coming station master recruitment, the exam may be held in a single stage instead of two. Some reports say a decision has been taken to scrap the written exam this time. Candidates will now take a single computer-based test instead of CBT-1 and CBT-2.

The exam is believed to carry 100 marks, with 2 hours allowed. Questions are likely to carry 60 marks from basic science, mathematics and data analysis, 20 marks from logical ability and 20 marks from mental reasoning. It has also emerged that, on the basis of the written exam, candidates numbering eight times the vacancies will be called for the computer-based aptitude test.

It has been reported that graduate candidates will be able to apply. Selected candidates will be paid at Pay Level 6, with medical standard A-2. The basic pay will be Rs 35,400. Weightage of 70 per cent has been fixed for educational qualification and 30 per cent for the CBT.
