Sharad Pawar tells Praful Patel at hospital they will sit down and talk after the 10th
NCP leader Praful Patel visited Sharad Pawar in hospital, and a video shows Pawar saying the two will talk after the 10th.
Sharad Pawar, founder president of the Nationalist Congress Party and a senior leader, was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai for treatment after his health suddenly worsened. Praful Patel, a leader of the late Ajit Pawar's NCP, visited him in hospital yesterday to enquire about his health. The meeting has set off talk in political circles. It is reported that some political subjects were also discussed.
A video of the meeting between the two leaders has also surfaced. In it, Pawar tells Patel that they will sit together and talk after the 10th. All eyes are now on what issue will be discussed after the 10th.
Asked about the meeting, Patel said Pawar was asking about the state of politics. Patel said: "Our political roles may have grown apart, but our hearts have never grown apart. That is why I keep meeting Pawar Saheb. We have family ties and they will remain."
In reply to a question, Patel said it was not appropriate to discuss other matters in the hospital, so he kept to general conversation. According to Patel, Pawar asked him what was happening in national politics, in state politics and in American politics.
Vitthal Maniyar, a close associate of Pawar, said Prime Minister Narendra Modi also telephoned to ask after Pawar's health after he was admitted. According to Maniyar, Modi sent word that Supriya Sule and the rest of them were there to look after the country, and that Pawar should take care of his health. Pawar replied that with all of them there he had no worry about the country, and thanked Modi.
Pawar was admitted to hospital on November 2 with a cough and chest congestion. His condition is reported to be stable, with no serious problem. He was discharged on Wednesday. Doctors have advised him to rest completely for at least two to four days before returning to public events.
Pawar went straight to his home in South Mumbai with his daughter and Lok Sabha member Supriya Sule. During his rest he will be under the watch of his personal medical team. Earlier, Sule had written in a social media post: "Baba is much better now and we are heading to Mumbai. Many thanks to the entire team at Ruby Hall for such good care. I am deeply grateful for everyone's good wishes."
