The small-cap agri firm's penny stock hit Rs 46.58 on November 5, and investors are watching a board meeting that may consider a stock split, bonus shares and a dividend.

The share of SC Agrotech Limited, a small-cap agriculture company, rose sharply on the Diwali muhurat trading day. Over the past year the stock has given investors a return of 172.40 per cent. On November 5, 2026, it reached Rs 46.58. The penny stock, priced below Rs 50, is currently drawing the attention of the whole market.

Had someone invested Rs 10,000 in the share a year ago, the amount would be worth about Rs 27,240 today, a net gain of Rs 17,240 for the investor.

The rally has been even stronger in recent days. On October 23, the share stood at Rs 30.88. After that, it hit consecutive upper circuits and rose 51 per cent in just 8 to 9 sessions.

The company's good financial results are the main reason for the rally. In the second quarter, its revenue from operations rose to Rs 45.26 crore, against Rs 5.02 crore in the same quarter last year.

Net profit jumped from Rs 21.21 lakh to Rs 10.21 crore, an increase of about 48 times. In the first six months of the current financial year, the company has reported total revenue of Rs 83.11 crore and net profit of Rs 19.77 crore.

Investors are now watching the company's board meeting proposed for November 13, 2026. The meeting may consider three major corporate actions. The first is a 10:1 stock split, under which one share may be divided into 10. The second is a 4:5 bonus issue, under which shareholders may get 4 free bonus shares for every 5 held. The third is a proposal to pay a 100 per cent dividend on a face value of Rs 10.

An example shows how this works. If an investor holds 10,000 shares and a 10:1 split takes place, the holding becomes 1,00,000 shares. If a 4:5 bonus follows, another 80,000 shares would be added, for a total of 1,80,000 shares. However, even though the split and bonus raise the number of shares 18-fold, the share price falls in the same proportion. The total value of the portfolio therefore does not change immediately, which is worth keeping in mind.

Meanwhile, the company on November 4 launched a digital platform, 'AgriBridge' (agribridge.app), to bring digital change to agricultural trade. Through the app, farmers, agri suppliers and institutional buyers will be able to buy and sell directly. The company has also entered the healthcare sector by setting up a new healthcare subsidiary named 'SC Careoasis Healthcare Private Limited'.
