State Bank of India has issued an important alert for its crores of customers. If any bank-related work or money transaction is pending towards the end of the month, it would be better to complete it soon.

A major disruption in bank operations is expected for five consecutive days towards the end of September. This is why SBI has asked its customers to complete all their essential transactions before the proposed strike begins, so that there is no last-minute rush.

The United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU), an organisation of bank employees, has announced a three-day nationwide bank strike from September 28 to September 30, 2026. Just before this strike, September 26 falls on the fourth Saturday of the month, and September 27 is a Sunday, both regular public holidays for banks. As a result, direct operations at bank branches are likely to be completely affected for five consecutive days, from Saturday through Wednesday, the last day of the strike.

SBI has clearly told all its account holders to complete all their essential money and bank-related work before the announced strike dates. The bank has said it will try to keep as many essential services running for customers as possible during the strike. Even so, direct branch services will be directly affected, so customers should not wait until the last minute. The bank has kept several options open so that customers do not face daily inconvenience while branches remain closed.

For cash needs, customers can use ATM and ADWM machines, and can also take help from local Customer Service Points (CSP). As for digital services, SBI Internet Banking, the YONO app, mobile banking and UPI will remain fully functional for work such as online money transfers and paying electricity and water bills.

The bank has also said that the exact duration of the strike and its actual impact on banking services will depend on the situation at the time. Customers have therefore been advised to keep a close watch on official updates and information from SBI during this period.
