Work on the main road, internal roads and main entrance gate at the Chanda Industrial Co-operative Estate in Chandrapur has been completed. A total of Rs 3 crore was spent on the works. On their completion, the estate's board of directors thanked MLA Sudhir Mungantiwar and invited him to the felicitation.

Speaking on the occasion, Mungantiwar said that getting the opportunity to complete these works was a moment of happiness and satisfaction for him. He said he was heartily glad that the board had invited him to express its gratitude. He said the warm welcome and affection shown by everyone was very precious to him, because in the end what stays with a person is the love and trust of the people he has earned.

Mungantiwar said that Chanda Industrial Estate was once an area that added significantly to Chandrapur's industrial strength. However, for want of essential basic facilities, the development of the complex could not gain the pace expected of it. Some works remain even today, and he will try to complete them in the coming few months.

He assured that he would continue to make every effort to ensure that entrepreneurs here get the facilities they need, that a good climate is created for the growth of industries, and that Chanda Industrial Estate makes a distinct mark in the industrial sector again.

According to Mungantiwar, Chandrapur city has inherited a historical legacy of more than 500 years. Several important projects have been taken up to connect the city, built through the contribution of the Gond king Khandkya Ballalshah and Queen Hirai, with modern development. Projects such as the Bamboo Research and Training Centre, a forest academy, a government medical college, a cancer hospital, a Sainik School and a botanical garden have given new direction to different areas of the district's development.

Efforts to create new opportunities in education are also continuing. Efforts are on to set up an SNDT University centre, a polytechnic college and an agriculture college on a 50-acre campus. Work has also been taken up to build a sub-centre of Gondwana University on eight acres at the Babupeth campus to improve higher education facilities.

In transport, efforts were made to renovate the Morwa airport and bring it under the UDAN scheme. Beautification of the Chandrapur and Ballarpur railway stations was undertaken to give passengers better facilities. An initiative to name the Ballarpur-Mumbai train the 'Tadoba Express' is also being pursued to carry the identity of Chandrapur district to Mumbai. Mungantiwar said the broad thinking behind all this is that Chandrapur should not remain merely a historical city but become a capable modern city in education, health, industry, tourism and transport.

The development of Chanda Industrial Estate is expected to bring relief to local entrepreneurs and speed up industrial activity here. Basic facilities such as roads and an entrance gate are an important step in industrial development. Providing the remaining basic facilities, resolving entrepreneurs' problems and developing the entire complex are equally necessary.

Mungantiwar said that everyone had thanked him that day, but he did not view it merely as a thanksgiving ceremony. In his view, the honour is energy received and a greater responsibility for completing future development works. He resolved to speed up the effort to link Chandrapur's historical glory with modern development, resolve the pending issues of the industrial area and provide the necessary facilities to local entrepreneurs.

Mayor Sangita Khandekar, Dr Mangesh Gulwade, Rahul Pawde, Kalpana Palikundwar, Padmakumar Nair, Manoj Singhvi, Ravi Lonkar, Sunita Jaiswal and Rudranarayan Tiwari were present along with the estate's board of directors.
