Police doubt Rs 5 crore extortion call to Tusshar Kapoor in Bishnoi gang's name was genuine

A threatening call demanding Rs 5 crore in extortion money from Bollywood actor Tusshar Kapoor had caused alarm. The caller had claimed to be a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. However, an initial investigation by Mumbai Police has found something different. No similarity was found between the voice on the call and genuine audio samples of Harry Boxer. For this reason, police suspect the call may be fake.

According to the information available, a person named Harry Boxer had phoned Tusshar Kapoor and demanded Rs 5 crore. In the call, he said he was linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The audio recording of the threatening call is now considered important for the investigation.

Tusshar Kapoor immediately informed Mumbai Police of the incident. Given the seriousness of the matter, police began an investigation. It has been handed to the Anti-Extortion Cell and the Crime Branch.

The Crime Branch's technical team examined the voice on the threatening call received by Tusshar Kapoor. The voice was then compared with genuine audio samples of Harry Boxer held in the police database. Senior police officers said that, it is understood, the two audio samples did not match.

On this basis, the initial investigation points to the possibility that the call is fake. Police suspect that a prankster may have used the name of the Bishnoi gang to try to spread fear.

For now, Mumbai Police are searching for the person who sent the threat audio. They are also checking whether a lone individual is behind it or an organised gang is involved. Police are continuing the investigation on the basis of the audio recording and other technical evidence.

Tusshar Kapoor belongs to the well-known Kapoor family of Bollywood. He is the son of veteran actor Jeetendra and producer Shobha Kapoor. His sister Ekta Kapoor is a noted producer of Hindi films and television.
