A young man mimicked Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's 'Chhatron Ki Goonj' event in Madhya Pradesh, sparking a political row after the video surfaced. BJP leaders attacked Rahul Gandhi over the video, and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis also targeted him directly.

Speaking to reporters after an event in Nagpur, Fadnavis said, "I think this is the only work left for him now. He should leave the party and take up stand-up comedy. He will get good employment doing that." Fadnavis also attacked the Congress party, saying, "Here, he has left his entire party unemployed."

Besides his remarks on Rahul Gandhi, Fadnavis also spoke about a solar module manufacturing factory at the same Nagpur event. He said the factory is producing solar modules using cutting-edge technology as part of efforts to compete with China in the solar sector. According to Fadnavis, the project's groundbreaking took place in 2024 and around 5,000 workers are currently employed at the factory. He described it as an example of a changing Maharashtra and industrial development in Vidarbha-Nagpur.

Noting rising demand for land in Butibori, Fadnavis also spoke of plans to develop new industrial areas. He said Mahindra had been given about a thousand acres of land, with work expected to begin there in the next two to three months. He also said the process of acquiring around 5,000 acres in the Savner area was underway, which he claimed would create large-scale investment and employment opportunities.

Amid all this, Fadnavis's remark on Rahul Gandhi has drawn the most attention. The row that began with the mimicry of Modi has now spread to Maharashtra's politics.
