Palghar invites applications for 122 kotwal posts in revenue department, last date October 17

The Palghar district administration has started the process of direct recruitment to posts of kotwal, also known as revenue servant, in the revenue department. The posts belong to the Class IV cadre. A total of 122 vacancies across the district's eight talukas will be filled. Interested candidates can apply until October 17, 2026.

By taluka, the largest number, 31, will be filled in Vasai. Palghar taluka has 21, Wada 17, Dahanu 16, Jawhar 11, Vikramgad 10, Talasari 9 and Mokhada 7. These posts are considered very important for speeding up work at the lowest level of local administration, in the villages.

Applications must be made offline. Candidates must go to the office of the tahsildar concerned and personally submit the prescribed form along with all required documents. Forms sent by post or e-mail will not be accepted. Forms will be accepted until 6:15 pm on October 17, excluding government holidays. A written examination for eligible candidates will then be held on November 15, 2026. The full advertisement and the sample form are available on the government website palghar.gov.in.

On eligibility, candidates must have passed Class 4 at the least. They must be able to read and write Marathi well. On October 2, 2026, a candidate must be at least 18 and at most 40 years old. Age relaxation will apply to different categories as per government rules. Another important condition is that the candidate must be a local resident of the village or saja concerned.

Selected candidates will be paid a fixed honorarium of Rs 16,500 a month.
