Land acquisition for the Shaktipeeth Expressway is now moving quickly. Joint land measurement is under way in 13 districts along the proposed route from Pawnar (Wardha district) to Patradevi (Sindhudurg district). Of the 409 villages in 40 talukas, measurement has been completed in 129. Officials said the work is progressing because of the farmers' cooperation.

The proposed expressway is about 856.765 km long. It will pass through 13 districts of the state and link Vidarbha, Marathwada, Western Maharashtra and Konkan. It is considered important as a route connecting religious sites, tourist areas and industrial areas.

Joint land measurement is regarded as a key stage in land acquisition. District collectorates and the revenue machinery are carrying out the work.

The current position in the 409 villages is as follows: measurement is complete in 129 villages, partly complete in 15, and the process of talking to farmers is on in the remaining 265. The state government had published a notification on the revised alignment of the expressway on May 5, 2026. The current measurement is being carried out according to that alignment.

In Vidarbha, work has advanced in Wardha and Yavatmal districts. Measurement has been done in 20 villages in two talukas of Wardha district and in 70 villages in six talukas of Yavatmal.

In Marathwada, joint measurement has been completed in 11 villages in one taluka of Nanded, 40 villages in three talukas of Hingoli and six villages in two talukas of Parbhani. It has also been completed in eight villages in two talukas of Beed. In Latur district, measurement is complete in four villages in three talukas and partial in eight villages. In Dharashiv, it is complete in eight villages in one taluka and partial in five villages.

In the districts of Western Maharashtra, talks with farmers on joint measurement are continuing. The Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation and district collectors are holding discussions to win farmers' trust on measurement and land acquisition.

To raise public awareness, the MSRDC held the first phase of the 'Shaktipeeth Samvad Yatra' in Wardha district. A workshop was also held at YASHADA in Pune to keep the district collectorates, the revenue machinery and the corporation coordinated. The administration is focusing on completing measurement in the remaining villages by talking to farmers.
