MP Sunil Tatkare said at Mandangad in Ratnagiri district that administrative delays in the pending work of the taluka's people would not be tolerated under any circumstances. At a special review meeting held in the hall of the Mandangad Nagar Panchayat, he took stock of the work of all major government departments.
At the meeting, Tatkare sharply reprimanded the officials concerned over people's complaints and work stuck in files. He told the administrative staff present to show urgency and resolve people's problems immediately. He said departments that deal directly with the public should work with greater sensitivity and responsibility. Tatkare also ordered that pending issues be cleared within 15 days. He further appealed to everyone to work for the development of the taluka.
Tatkare said the Public Works Department should keep all the taluka's roads in good condition. Electricity poles are obstructing road renewal, and the department must resolve this at once. Officials were also directed to act immediately on complaints related to Mahavitaran and local water supply schemes.
Funds are available for a toilet at the ST bus station, yet the work is stalled because no space has been found. Tatkare sought an answer from ST depot officials on this. He strictly ordered that the problem be resolved at once and that space be provided. He also directed that the drinking water problem of Mandangad town be taken up seriously and settled soon.
Reviewing water supply and Jal Jeevan Mission works, Tatkare ordered that complaints be disposed of within 15 days under the supervision of the sub-divisional officer. He also warned that strict action would be taken against those found responsible for any shortcoming or irregularity in Jal Jeevan Mission works.
He took information from the agriculture department on the present state of farming in the taluka and asked it to provide whatever help farmers need. Citing Mandangad's historical importance, Tatkare said the national highway work from Ambadawe to Rajewadi must be of very good quality. Contractors were instructed to complete on time the bridges at Bankot, Bagmandla and Kelshi on the Konkan coastal highway.
