Pakistan name squad for Hong Kong Sixes 2026, will face India on October 30
Defending champions Pakistan, led again by Mohammad Abbas Afridi, will play the UAE and India in Group C on the opening day of the tournament.

The Hong Kong Sixes 2026 begins on October 30, and India and Pakistan will once again face each other in it. India announced its seven-player squad a few days ago. The Pakistan Cricket Board has now officially announced its team as well.
Mohammad Abbas Afridi will again lead Pakistan. Pakistan won the Hong Kong Sixes last year under his captaincy. In the 2025 final, Pakistan beat Kuwait by 43 runs to lift the trophy. The team will now take the field intending to defend the title. The Pakistan Cricket Board has picked a strong side for the tournament.
The first match of the tournament will be played on October 30 and the final on November 1. India, Pakistan and the UAE have been placed in Group C. Pakistan will play the UAE in its first match on October 30. Pakistan and India will also meet on the same day. Both teams are strong, so an exciting contest is expected.
India and Pakistan also played a group-stage match at last year's Hong Kong Sixes 2025. India scored 86 for 4 in 6 overs. In reply, Pakistan had made 41 in 3 overs when rain stopped play. India won that match by 2 runs under the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern (DLS) method. Pakistan won the tournament but could not beat India.
India's squad is: Bhuvneshwar Kumar (captain), Krunal Pandya, Nitish Rana, Shashank Singh, T Natarajan, Rahul Tripathi and Rahul Tewatia.
Pakistan's squad is: Mohammad Abbas Afridi (captain), Abdul Samad, Ahmed Daniyal, Muhammad Irfan Khan, Khawaja Nafay, Muhammad Shahzad and Saad Masood.
