Minor schoolgirl molested on Nagpur road in broad daylight; youth tried to force her onto bike

Nagpur: A motorcycle-borne youth blocked the path of a minor schoolgirl and molested her in the Ajni police station area. The accused went further, catching hold of the girl's hand and trying to force her onto his bike.

The girl lives with her father, as her parents live separately because of a rift. She had contacted her mother by phone as she needed her Aadhaar card for some work.

At about 10:30 am on October 25, the girl reached the Ajni area to collect the Aadhaar card. On the way, the youth stopped her. He parked his bike in front of her and blocked her way. He then behaved indecently with her and, holding her hand, began forcing her to sit on the bike.

The girl was shaken by the sudden act. She somehow got away and reached home, where she told her mother everything. After hearing her daughter's account, the mother lodged a complaint at Ajni police station.

Ajni police have registered a case against the youth under charges of molestation and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, and have begun an investigation.
