Nagpur: Nitin alias Butya Marke, a notorious criminal of Pratap Nagar, went on a rampage and seriously injured four people, including bhel-seller brothers, in attacks. Butya, a resident of Kamgar Colony, is a professional criminal.

Ritesh Vishwakarma runs a bhel handcart near IT Park. On October 24, Butya came to Ritesh's cart with two young women to extort protection money. He abused him and vandalised the cart. When Ritesh's father Suresh objected, Butya beat him and threatened to kill him. He then demanded money from Ritesh. When Ritesh refused to pay, Butya attacked him with a knife. Ritesh was injured on the ear, head and hand. Seeing this, Ritesh's brother stepped in and tried to catch Butya. Butya stabbed and injured him too, and fled with the women. The incident created panic near IT Park.

Butya then arrived near Birsa Munda Hall in Sant Tukdoji Nagar. There, in front of the house of 63-year-old Suresh Sharma, he was celebrating his birthday and bursting firecrackers. As Butya and his associates were creating a ruckus at midnight, Sharma advised them to keep quiet. Sharma started walking home. Butya chased him on a motorcycle and tried to hit him. When Sharma told him to drive properly, Butya attacked him with the motorcycle key and injured him as well.

Pratap Nagar police have registered a case against Butya in both incidents.
