The new Sprint 440 motorcycle, being developed in partnership by Harley-Davidson and Hero MotoCorp, has been spotted without any cover for the first time. Photographs of the bike in three colours, black, grey and blue, have surfaced, bringing out several design changes. The cruiser is based on the platform of the current Harley-Davidson X440. It will have a different look and is likely to offer a comfortable riding position.
The bike could be unveiled globally at EICMA 2026. It is expected to launch in India in 2027, meaning a global unveiling is expected first, followed by the Indian launch. The motorcycle is expected to be built at Hero MotoCorp's production facility in India.
According to the photographs, the Sprint 440 has a teardrop-shaped fuel tank and a round headlamp. The rider's seat is a single-piece, scooped unit. The handlebar is high and swept back towards the rider, so the seating position is likely to be comfortable. The graphics on the fuel tank differ by colour. On the black model, the Harley-Davidson name is prominently visible, while the side panels carry Sprint branding.
The rear of the bike also looks different from the X440. It has alloy wheels with machined detailing, USD forks at the front and twin shock absorbers at the rear. Disc brakes are visible on both wheels. The exhaust muffler has been redesigned and carries a metallic heat shield.
The switchgear is different, and the backlight of the instrument console also appears to have changed. The round instrument pod is likely to be retained. However, the company has not yet given details on display functionality, smartphone connectivity or riding aids.
On the engine, the Sprint 440 is expected to use the X440's 440cc single-cylinder, air and oil-cooled engine. In the X440, this engine produces 27 hp of power and 38 Nm of torque and comes with a 6-speed gearbox. It is not yet clear whether the Sprint 440 will have the same power output or whether the engine will be modified.
The company has not announced the price, features or on-sale date. Details on pricing may emerge once the unveiling is held and the features are known. With a traditional cruiser design and a 440cc engine, the bike could be a new option for riders looking for a riding style different from the X440.
