Man beaten to death with iron pipe at Apti near Pulgaon in Wardha; two arrested
Police arrested two men from Apti after a 45-year-old resident was attacked on the Pulgaon-Apti road and died during treatment.

A man was beaten to death with an iron pipe on Wednesday in Apti, near Pulgaon in Wardha district. Police have arrested two accused in the case. The incident is said to have taken place at about 8 am on Wednesday, and the killing caused panic in the area.
The deceased has been identified as Nagsen Marotrao Bhagat, 45, a resident of Apti. The arrested accused are Girish Padmakar Kolhe (48) and Avinash Janardan Kolhe (43), both residents of Apti.
Nagsen was married but was said to be in a relationship with another woman. Girish and Avinash Kolhe had earlier tried to persuade him to change, but his behaviour did not change.
It is alleged that between 8 am and 9 am on Wednesday, near the Hanuman temple on the Pulgaon-Apti road, Girish and Avinash quarrelled with Nagsen and beat him severely with an iron pipe. Nagsen was seriously injured.
With the help of people nearby, he was rushed to the rural hospital in Pulgaon. As his condition was critical, he was referred to a hospital at Sawangi Meghe, where he died during treatment.
Pulgaon police registered a case under murder charges and arrested Girish Kolhe and Avinash Kolhe. Police had swung into action as soon as news of the incident came in.
On learning of the incident, Superintendent of Police Saurabhkumar Agrawal, Additional Superintendent of Police Sadashiv Waghmare and Sub-Divisional Police Officer Dr Vandana Karkhele reached the spot and inspected it closely. A forensic team also arrived, collected blood-stained soil, plain soil and other samples, and sent them for examination.
Police traced the accused within a few hours of the incident, took them into custody and then arrested them. Assistant Police Inspector Nitin Madankar, Vinod Raghatate, Sandeep Borban, Somit Ganthade, Ajay Anantwar and Amol Barde took part in the operation.
