Two held within 12 hours for house theft in Wardha's Selu; all stolen items recovered
Selu police solved a burglary at Kelzar in Wardha district within 12 hours, arresting two men and recovering all the stolen gold and cash.
Police in Selu taluka of Wardha district have solved a burglary at Kelzar within 12 hours. Two accused have been arrested and the entire stolen property, 100 per cent of it, has been recovered.
Chhaya Vilas Tadas, a resident of Kelzar, filed a complaint at Selu police station on October 2, 2026. According to her, on October 1, while she was at home during the day, an unknown thief broke the lock of the iron cupboard in the house and stole a gold necklace of beads from the locker. The necklace had gold beads and a gold pendant, with an estimated value of Rs 54,000. Cash of Rs 2,000 was also stolen. A case was registered at Selu police station on the complainant's oral report.
The case was being investigated by Head Constable Anil Kekatpure (badge no. 323) of the Detection Branch squad of Selu police station. He and his squad acted on information from a confidential informant. According to the police, the accused, Roshan Sanjayrao Borekar (26) and Abhinav Kisanaji Dehvare, were arrested within 12 hours. Both live in Ward No. 4, Kelzar, Selu taluka, Wardha district.
Police seized property worth a total of Rs 185,550 from the accused. This includes the old black Hero Splendor motorcycle (registration MH-32-AW-2820) used to commit the crime. An old Redmi 5G Android mobile phone and another old Redmi Android mobile phone were also seized. The stolen Rs 2,000 in cash, 56 gold beads (weighing 1.960 grams) and a gold pendant (weighing 3.090 grams) were also recovered.
The complainant has thanked the police for getting back all the stolen property and for solving the case in 12 hours.
The operation was carried out under the guidance of Wardha Superintendent of Police Saurabh Kumar Agrawal, Additional Superintendent of Police Sadashiv Waghmare and Wardha Sub-Divisional Police Officer Pramod Makeshwar. It was carried out by Assistant Police Inspector Pankaj Waghode, station house officer of Selu police station, Sub-Inspector Vishal Nallawar, and Detection Branch squad personnel Anil Kekatpure, Ramkisan Ippar, Gajanan Kamthane, Vinayak Gode, Omprakash Tallari and Lokesh Pawankar.
