The state Home department has transferred 16 senior IPS and RPS officers, including postings in Nagpur and Bhandara, and extended the tenure of three Thane city officers by a year.

The Maharashtra Police has seen a major reshuffle. The state Home department has transferred a total of 16 senior officers of the Indian Police Service (IPS) and the Maharashtra state police service (RPS). The list includes names linked to Nagpur and Bhandara, who have now been given new responsibilities.

The Home department issued the orders on November 2. They were issued on the recommendations of Police Establishment Board No. 1.

In Nagpur, Chetana Tidke, who was posted as Additional Superintendent of Police at Ambajogai in Beed district, has been transferred to the city. She has been made Superintendent of Police (Operations) and will also hold charge of the Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC). Her new posting is being seen as an important change in Nagpur's police administration.

One officer is leaving Nagpur. Vikas Sampat Naik was Deputy Superintendent of Police in the Civil Rights Protection department in Nagpur. He has been sent to Mumbai city, where he will serve as Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police in the State Intelligence department.

Bhandara district has also got a new officer. Sudhir Pundlik Nandanwar was awaiting a posting until now, meaning he had no fixed assignment. He has been appointed Sub-Divisional Police Officer of Tumsar sub-division in Bhandara district, and will be responsible for police administration there.

The transfers also bring some relief. Three senior officers of Thane city have been given a one-year extension in their present posts. They have not been moved and will continue in the same posts for the next year.

Following the Home department's order, administrative responsibilities will change across various police offices in the state. In all, new postings have been fixed for 16 officers. The list includes Chetana Tidke in Nagpur, Vikas Naik moving from Nagpur to Mumbai and Sudhir Nandanwar arriving in Tumsar, Bhandara.
