The state Home Department has issued transfer orders for senior police officers, while three Thane officers have been allowed to stay in their posts for another year.

The Maharashtra Home Department has issued orders transferring senior IPS and RPS officers. The order was issued on November 2, 2026, and makes significant changes to the postings of several senior police officers in the state.

The orders were issued on the recommendation of Police Establishment Board No. 1. The list includes officers from Thane, Beed, Satara, Nanded, Pune, Nagpur, Ratnagiri, Latur, Bhandara and Nashik.

The most talked-about part of the decision is the one-year extension of tenure given to three senior Thane police officers.
