Lawrence Bishnoi gang's Harry Boxer detained in US; claimed firing at Rohit Shetty's home

Gangsters who run a web of crime in India from abroad and threaten Bollywood are now facing a tightening grip from international agencies. In this connection, Harry Boxer, a notorious gangster linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, has been detained in the United States.

Harry Boxer had claimed responsibility for the firing outside the Mumbai home of well-known Bollywood film director Rohit Shetty. His detention is being seen as a major international setback for the Bishnoi gang.

The incident took place at midnight on February 1, 2026. Attackers fired several rounds outside Shetty's house, "Shetty Tower", in Juhu, Mumbai. Rohit Shetty was at home at the time. Fortunately, no one was hurt in the attack.

After the firing, Harry Boxer claimed responsibility through social media posts and audio messages. Through the same posts and messages, he also openly threatened film industry artistes.

Several serious cases, including murder, extortion, intimidation and firing, are registered against Harry Boxer in India. He is said to have been running criminal activities in India through his network while based in the United States.

He was detained in California. The Special Cell of the Delhi Police had provided highly confidential information, and on that basis officers of the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) took the action.

Indian security agencies are keeping a close watch on gangsters who run their criminal empires in India from abroad. Before Harry Boxer, gangsters Himanshu Bhau and Neeraj Faridpuria have also been detained in the United States.

Indian investigating agencies are moving quickly, with the cooperation of the US, Europe and other countries, to bring these gangsters based abroad to India.
