Man who intervened in row outside Nandanvan liquor shop has leg broken; one accused held

A minor quarrel outside a country liquor shop in the Nandanvan police station area of Nagpur turned into a brawl. A man who stepped in to save his friend from abuse paid dearly for it. According to the police, two accused attacked him together, breaking a bone in his leg.

The police said the complainant is Devendra Savarkar. He had gone to a country liquor shop on Sangharsh Nagar Road in Nandanvan to drink. When he came out of the shop after drinking, he saw the accused, Aman Padole and Ashlesh Adikane, abusing his friend Pintu Kamble.

Devendra stepped in and tried to calm the matter. According to the police, the two accused were angered by this and began beating Devendra with fists and hands.

During the assault, one accused struck Devendra on the head with an iron bangle worn on his hand. The other picked up a stone lying on the road and hurled it at his leg. Devendra was seriously injured in the attack and suffered a fracture of the leg bone.

He was taken to a medical hospital for treatment in an injured state.

On Devendra's complaint, Nandanvan police registered a case against both accused under the relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Police have arrested Ashlesh Adikane. A search is on for the other accused, Aman Padole, whose arrest is pending.

Thus a petty dispute that began outside a country liquor shop in Nandanvan left one man seriously hurt. One accused is in police custody and the hunt for the other continues.
