Lava says the increase of up to Rs 3,000 across its smartphone range is due to a continuing shortage of memory, following similar moves by Samsung, Vivo and Oppo.
Smartphone maker Lava has announced that it will raise the prices of its phones, following similar moves by Samsung, Vivo and Oppo.
According to the company, prices will go up by as much as Rs 3,000. The new prices will come into effect on November 15, 2026. Customers who want to buy a Lava phone at the current prices have until November 15. After that, they will have to pay more.
The company has reportedly taken the decision because of problems in the global memory supply. A shortage of memory modules is being seen in the semiconductor and component supply chain, which has affected the procurement costs of original equipment manufacturers. Lava said the change reflects a wider situation in the industry, where hardware input prices have risen.
The announcement comes during the festive shopping season, when large retail outlets usually offer promotional discounts on consumer electronics.
Lava has clarified that available stock will be sold at the existing discounted prices until the deadline. However, the company has not yet said by how much the price of each smartphone will go up. Customers will have to wait to learn the new prices.
Lava said on the announcement, "Owing to the continuing shortage of memory, it has become necessary to raise the prices of our smartphone portfolio by up to Rs 3,000." The company said the change will take effect from November 15, 2026.
The company has told customers that if they are planning to upgrade their device, they have a good opportunity until November 15, 2026. For the festive season, its products are available at special prices on major e-commerce platforms and its offline retail network. The company advises customers to take advantage of the current offers before prices change, so that they do not have to pay more for new products later.
