Jailer 2 earns Rs 95.30 crore in India in two days, Rs 209.10 crore worldwide

Rajinikanth's much-awaited film Jailer 2, which released in theatres on October 15, has taken the box office by storm. Audiences are flocking to cinemas in large numbers. The film has earned Rs 95.30 crore in India in two days, while its worldwide collection has reached Rs 209.10 crore.

All shows on the first day were houseful, and advance bookings had already run into crores of rupees. The first Jailer, released in 2023, broke all records, so the sequel was eagerly awaited. Director Nelson Dilipkumar has not disappointed viewers. Rajinikanth is once again in the role of Tiger Muthuvel Pandian, the same retired jailer with the same swagger and style.

On the first day, Thursday, the film earned Rs 59.70 crore in India. The figure itself shows the craze for the film. People took leave from work to watch the first show.

On the second day, Friday, collections did not dip. Despite it being a working day, the film collected Rs 35.60 crore. In just two days, the India collection has thus reached Rs 95.30 crore. With the weekend approaching, theatres are expected to see heavy crowds, and crossing the Rs 100 crore mark does not appear difficult.

The craze is not limited to India. Audiences abroad are also liking the film. Worldwide, it has earned Rs 209.10 crore within two days. Crossing Rs 200 crore in two days is no small feat.

The film is directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, who also made the first part. Alongside Rajinikanth, Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, Mirnaa Menon, Vidya Balan and Mithun Chakraborty play important roles. All these actors have held the film together.

The biggest surprise is two major cameos, by Malayalam superstar Mohanlal and Hrithik Roshan. Viewers say whistles break out in the theatre as soon as either of them appears.

Overall, Jailer 2 is a full-on masala entertainer, with Rajinikanth's style, action, comedy and emotion. The film is expected to set more records over the weekend.
