Rajinikanth's Jailer 2 Hindi trailer released; film to hit theatres on October 15

The Hindi trailer of superstar Rajinikanth's much-awaited film 'Jailer 2' has finally been released. Audiences had been waiting for it for a long time. Sun Pictures released the trailer on Monday, October 5. The film will release in theatres on October 15, just a few days away.

The film is directed by Nelson Dilipkumar. Going by the trailer, the sequel appears to be packed with more action, thrills and entertainment than the first part. Besides the action, the trailer also shows Nelson Dilipkumar's trademark dark humour. Rajinikanth will once again be seen as the formidable Muthuvel Pandian.

In the first 'Jailer', the quiet life of retired jail officer Muthuvel Pandian is upended when his son goes missing. In the sequel, he will be seen facing even more dangerous situations. The trailer shows Rajinikanth's powerful presence, action sequences and signature style.

The cast alongside Rajinikanth includes S.J. Suryah, Mithun Chakraborty, Vidya Balan, Sooraj Venjaramoodu, Anna Rajan and Jatin Sarna. Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, Mirna and Rithvik are also returning in their roles.

The most striking part of the trailer is the entry of the special cast members. Shiva Rajkumar appears as 'Narasimha' in a dramatic slow-motion shot. Mohanlal returns in his own style as the underworld boss 'Mathew'. Jackie Shroff is also back as 'Cupid' and is seen sitting in a dark room with a glass in hand.

Vidya Balan appears in a saree in a dashing and mysterious avatar. In one scene she is seen smoking and talking with Rajinikanth at a dining table. There is no official information yet on what her character will be.

S.J. Suryah also gets a strong showing. In one scene he is seen talking about a sniper setup while eating. This has set off talk that his role could be that of a villain or antagonist.

There is also talk that the film may feature some big special appearances. Shah Rukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan are said to be in discussion to appear, but their involvement has not been officially confirmed so far.

There is also anticipation around the film's music, composed by Anirudh Ravichander. Four songs from the album have been released during promotion, including a special number 'Bindaas' featuring Nora Fatehi. After the trailer, fans are eager to see Rajinikanth's Muthuvel Pandian avatar on the big screen. 'Jailer 2' releases in theatres on October 15.
