The country's biggest telecommunications and technology event began today. India Mobile Congress 2026 started on October 7 at Yashobhoomi in New Delhi. The four-day event will continue till October 10.
This is the 10th edition of the event. Its main theme is "Scale Without Boundaries", that is, taking technology to a large scale without any limits. The event is organised by the Cellular Operators Association of India and the Department of Telecommunications.
Technologies such as 6G, artificial intelligence, 5G, satellite communication and cyber security will be at the forefront of discussions this time. New technologies related to semiconductors, quantum communications, robotics and digital infrastructure will also be showcased. The event is meant to show what changes lie ahead in the world of mobile and the internet.
6G has been given special importance this time. The event will discuss India's preparations for 6G, global standards and new communication technologies to be used in future. Along with 6G, attention will also be on networks that can run on their own with the help of AI and change their capacity as needed. India will try to strengthen its role in next-generation communication technology through this.
The event will also focus on satellite communication. Discussions will centre on technology that can provide connectivity in areas beyond the reach of traditional mobile networks. Technology that links mobile devices directly to satellites could prove extremely important for remote areas in future.
Mobile networks and digital services are expanding, but cyber security challenges have also grown considerably. India Mobile Congress 2026 will discuss issues such as digital security, protection of personal data, and curbing online fraud and spam. Special programmes for new companies and startups will also be held at the event.
