With the monsoon having withdrawn, the weather in Maharashtra has changed. On Friday, October 16, 2026, the state is expected to remain mainly hot and dry. Heat and humidity, rather than rain, are likely to have the greater effect at present.

Humidity may add to people's discomfort in Mumbai, Thane and the Konkan region. In the urban areas of Navi Mumbai and Palghar, light haze in the morning is likely to give way to sunshine. Because of moisture in the air, it may feel hotter even though temperatures stay normal. Rain activity is expected to be low, and people have been advised to avoid the afternoon sun and drink plenty of water.

In Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad, there may be some relief in the morning and at night. In the afternoon, however, strong sunshine could push the temperature up to around 35 degrees Celsius. People should take measures to protect themselves from the heat when going out.

Nagpur recorded a temperature of 23 degrees Celsius on Friday. According to available weather information, the maximum temperature there is expected to be around 32 degrees and the minimum around 23 degrees Celsius. Sunrise will be at 5:54 am and sunset at 5:28 pm. The humidity level has been recorded at 91 per cent and atmospheric pressure at 1012.

Air quality in Nagpur is also a concern. The city's Air Quality Index (AQI) has been put at 136, while PM2.5 was recorded at 61 and PM10 at 145. Sensitive people should be wary of pollution and would do well to limit the time they spend outdoors if necessary.

The weather is also expected to remain mainly dry in Marathwada and North Maharashtra, including Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Jalna, Beed, Latur, Nanded, Nashik, Dhule and Jalgaon. Akola, Amravati, Wardha and Chandrapur in Vidarbha may also feel hot during the day. Temperatures are likely to rise in Pune and several Vidarbha districts under strong sunshine, though conditions may vary from area to area according to local circumstances.

People have been advised to follow the latest bulletins of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) for official weather warnings and district-wise forecasts.
