Honda has shown the ADV 125 at the EICMA motor show; the company has not announced when it will go on sale.
Honda has unveiled its new adventure scooter, the ADV 125, at the ongoing EICMA motor show. People had been waiting for the scooter for some time.
The company already sells the ADV 160. The new 125 cc scooter is positioned as more affordable than that model and is designed with city riders in mind.
For now the scooter has only been displayed at the show, and the company has not announced a date for its official launch. Its looks and features have nonetheless started a good buzz in the two-wheeler market.
It has a 125 cc liquid-cooled engine that produces 12.5 PS of power and 11.7 Nm of torque. The scooter can cruise comfortably at 90 km/h, and its top speed is 97 km/h.
The company claims a mileage of 47.6 km per litre. It has a large 8.1-litre fuel tank, and on a full tank it can cover up to 385 km.
The design is sharp and sturdy, like an SUV. A large windscreen, aggressive dual headlamps with integrated DRLs, a step-up seat and a high-mounted exhaust give it a sporty look. The scooter will come in four colours: Pearl Falcon Grey, Pearl Cool White, Matte Cynos Grey Metallic and Matte Pearl Deaspro Red.
For safety, single-channel ABS is standard. The wheels are 14 inches at the front and 13 inches at the rear.
Among the features is a 5-inch TFT display with Honda's RoadSync connectivity. It lets the rider pair a smartphone with the scooter, making phone calls, navigation and music control easier.
For keyless ignition it has the Honda Smart Key, which lets the rider open the seat and fuel cap without using a key. It also has an anti-theft feature and a USB Type-C port for charging mobile phones.
