A case of attempted murder of a husband has come to light in Ghaziabad, in which the wife and her alleged lover, a gym trainer, have been named accused. According to police, the accused wife, Priya, along with gym trainer Pratap Singh, launched a murderous attack on her husband, Shashank Kantheria. Police solved the case within 24 hours and arrested both accused.
Police said Pratap Singh runs a gym where both men and women work out. Priya had been going to this gym for the past eight months. During this time the two became friends and gradually grew close. It is also learnt that the two wanted to marry.
Priya's husband, Shashank Kantheria, was a senior accountant. Pratap Singh often visited their home. During these visits, Shashank got wind of the relationship between the two. Priya then decided to move to another apartment.
According to the information available, on the morning of October 25, when Priya met gym trainer Pratap Singh, the two allegedly hatched a plot to kill her husband. Police, however, got to the bottom of the case and arrested both accused.
After the attempt on his life, Pratap Singh was trying to flee the spot. Neighbours caught him on the spot and handed him over to police. Shashank Kantheria was seriously injured. He was rushed to hospital immediately and is undergoing treatment. After investigation, police have arrested both wife Priya and gym trainer Pratap Singh.
The incident has revived memories of the March 2025 case in Meerut, in which Saurabh Rajput's body was kept in a blue drum after he was murdered. The incident had shaken the whole country. The accused, Muskan Rastogi and Sahil Shukla, were charged with Saurabh's murder. The body was cut into pieces and hidden in a blue drum filled with cement. In October this year, a Meerut court sentenced both accused to death.
