Yashodhara Nagar police say the youth has confessed to four two-wheeler thefts and a house burglary, solving five cases in all.

Yashodhara Nagar police in Nagpur have arrested a 19-year-old on charges of motorcycle theft and a house burglary. The arrest has brought to light a series of property crimes across different parts of the city. According to police, four two-wheeler thefts and one house burglary, five cases in all, have been solved. Four stolen vehicles, valued at Rs 3.3 lakh in total, have been recovered from the accused.

The accused has been identified as Kanhaiya alias Sonu Rambhuvan Sahu. He lives near the New Sheetla Mata Mandir in Vijay Nagar in Nagpur's Kalamna area.

Police said the case came to light when the motorcycle of Manish Santosh Tiwari, 22, was stolen. Tiwari lives in a rented house near the Shiv Mandir, opposite the Mehendibagh power house, in the Yashodhara Nagar police station area. The vehicle had been parked outside his house.

The theft took place between 1 am and 7 am on October 5, 2026. Tiwari had parked and locked his Bajaj Pulsar, registration number MH-49-AG-6043, valued at Rs 40,000, outside his house. It is alleged that an unknown thief stole it during the night. On Tiwari's complaint, Yashodhara Nagar police registered a case under Section 303(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and began an investigation.

During the investigation, police carried out a technical examination and, acting on reliable information, identified and caught Kanhaiya alias Sonu Rambhuvan Sahu. In questioning, the accused allegedly confessed to stealing Tiwari's motorcycle. Further questioning allegedly revealed three more two-wheeler thefts in different police station areas. A house burglary in the Koradi area also came to light.

Police said the accused has allegedly confessed to stealing the vehicles from different parts of the city. They are: a Bajaj Pulsar, registration number MH-49-AG-6043, valued at Rs 40,000, from Yashodhara Nagar; a Honda Unicorn, registration number MH-29-AU-4707, valued at Rs 1 lakh, from Hudkeshwar; a Honda Dio moped, registration number MH-31-EL-9444, valued at Rs 90,000, from Sadar; and a Bajaj Pulsar, registration number MH-31-FN-0169, valued at Rs 1 lakh, from Imamwada. The four recovered two-wheelers are worth Rs 3.3 lakh in total.

With the recovery of the four vehicles and the alleged confession to the burglary in the Koradi police station area, police have solved five cases in all.

The accused has been arrested. Police are now gathering full details of the burglary and are also checking whether he was involved in any other crime. Investigators hope the recovery will help them match the stolen vehicles to registered complaints, and that it will also clarify the full extent of the alleged offences.
