Gadkari shops for Diwali firecrackers with grandchildren at Nagpur's Gandhibagh market

A video of Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari is being widely viewed on social media. It shows him buying firecrackers for Diwali with his grandchildren in a local market in Nagpur.

Gadkari is usually in the news for political events, meetings and development projects. This time he is in the headlines for happy moments spent with his family.

In the video, Gadkari is in the market with the children. He is helping them look at and buy the firecrackers they like, and a smile is visible on his face. Social media users have welcomed his easy and warm manner with the children. Away from the busy political life of a Union minister, the video shows him in the role of a grandfather.

Gadkari has also posted about it himself. Naming Nagpur, he wrote in English that essential Diwali shopping was under way with his grandchildren in the local market. The post is dated November 6, 2026, and carries Deepavali hashtags.

The video is said to be from Nagpur's Gandhibagh market. Taking time out of his busy schedule, Gadkari went to shop for Diwali with his grandchildren. It is said that he takes the children to the market every year at Diwali to buy firecrackers. The practice continued this year, and firecrackers were chosen according to the children's preferences. The video was shared by his office, after which it went viral on social media.

People are also liking the video because it shows a different side of Gadkari. Many are pleased to see a leader who is always busy in public life make time for his family, especially his grandchildren. Such videos often draw attention on social media because they offer a glimpse of the personal, everyday lives of leaders, away from their formal image.

These moments with family, amid politics and public responsibilities, bring out a natural side of Gadkari's personality. That is why the video is once again drawing people's attention.
