Gadkari says Congress will weaken with every statement as BJP campaign opens in Nagpur
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari attacked Congress and Rahul Gandhi at the BJP's 'Save Democracy, Remove Anarchy' campaign in Nagpur on Thursday.
Nagpur, November 5, 2026: Union Minister Nitin Gadkari launched a sharp attack on Congress and Rahul Gandhi on Thursday during the BJP's 'Lokतंत्र Bachao, Arajakta Hatao' campaign in Nagpur. He said Congress would keep losing public support.
Taking a jibe at the Congress leadership, Gadkari said that however much political drama the Opposition staged, people would not vote for the party.
Targeting Rahul Gandhi and Congress, Gadkari said, "However much you speak, Congress will grow weaker with every statement."
The Union Minister also accused Congress of imposing the Emergency and of misusing constitutional institutions, including the judiciary and the Election Commission.
Gadkari said the BJP had protected democracy by removing Congress from power and would continue to work to keep democratic institutions safe.
Referring to India's diversity, Gadkari said unity in diversity was one of the country's greatest strengths. He also claimed that the BJP did not discriminate against anyone and that protecting democracy was among its main objectives.
His remarks come amid sharpening confrontation between the BJP and Congress over allegations concerning the electoral process, constitutional institutions and the functioning of democracy.
At the Nagpur campaign, senior BJP leaders, including Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Gadkari, led the party's drive against the Opposition.
