Narendra Bandhate, former panchayat samiti chairman who lives in Hamlapuri in Ramtek tehsil of Nagpur district, has said he will file a defamation claim. He told a press conference that videos spread on social media are making various allegations against him and BJP leaders. Bandhate has also questioned the role of Ramtek police in the matter.
The dispute is said to stem from a self-help group. Bandhate's wife Kanchanlata Bandhate and Yogita Kamli were linked to each other through the group. It is alleged that a transaction of Rs 5 lakh took place through the self-help group. The dispute between the two continued even after the transaction was settled.
According to Bandhate, Yogita Kamli and her son Durgesh Kamli then attacked his house. He claims that local residents snatched a weapon from Durgesh Kamli and handed it to Amol Ingole, beat in-charge at Ramtek police station.
Bandhate alleges that Ramtek police registered no case even after this alleged incident. He has questioned the police action and demanded a proper investigation into the entire matter.
Bandhate also alleges that Yogita Kamli is posting various videos on social media making allegations against him and BJP leaders. According to him, this is damaging his reputation. For this reason he told journalists he would file a defamation claim.
The police version and independent facts about the alleged incident are not available at present, so the allegations remain unverified.
