Dussehra is a popular time to buy a new two-wheeler. Buyers look for a vehicle that fits their daily needs and budget. For those considering an electric bike, range matters, but it is not the only factor. Battery capacity, charging time, performance, features and purchase price all shape the overall ownership experience.

Electric bikes in India are now available across budgets. Some stress daily commuting and practical features, while others offer a bigger battery, a higher claimed range and better performance at a higher price. The right choice depends on how far you travel, how often you can charge and what you want from your motorcycle. Here is a comparison of the range, features and price of five electric bikes at different price points.

The first is the Oben Rorr Evo, priced at Rs 1,39,999 (ex-showroom). Its design is inspired by streetfighter styling. In real-world use it offers a range of up to 150 km and a top speed of 110 km/h. Its 9 kW motor produces 250 Nm of torque at the wheel. It has a 3.4 kWh LFP battery with MHX technology and four riding modes: SmartIQ, Eco, City and Havoc. The company's own SmartIQ mode analyses riding style in real time and can add up to 15% extra range.

For charging, a home fast charger called Oben Plug takes the battery from 0 to 80% in under 90 minutes. The bike can also be charged from an ordinary three-pin 15-amp socket. The Rorr Evo has a 5-inch colour TFT display showing turn-by-turn navigation, call, message and music alerts. Over-the-air updates are supported. Connected features include remote diagnostics, ride history, anti-theft protection, geo-fencing and Fall Alert with Emergency Assist. It has 10 litres of storage, a Tank Pod for small items and two USB charging ports. The battery carries an 8-year/80,000 km warranty, subject to applicable conditions.

Second is the Revolt RVX, priced at Rs 1,39,990 (ex-showroom). It has a claimed IDC range of 160 km and a top speed of 90 km/h. Its Digi Dash shows ride analytics, battery and range information, and call and message alerts. The bike supports mobile app connectivity. The battery has an 8-year/80,000 km warranty, and fast charging from 0 to 80% takes about 80 minutes. Revolt's RevOS connected platform offers features such as live tracking, geo-fencing, SOS alerts, anti-theft tracking, voice control and a digital key.

Third is the Ola Roadster X+, available with 4.5 kWh and 9.1 kWh battery options. With the larger battery it has a claimed IDC range of up to 500 km and a top speed of 125 km/h, and it accelerates from 0 to 40 km/h in just 2.7 seconds. Both battery options carry a 3-year/50,000 km warranty. It has three riding modes and Ola's MoveOS software, which offers cruise control, parking assist, regenerative braking and over-the-air updates. Geo-fencing, time-fencing, live location tracking and riding statistics are also among the connected features. The 5 kWh variant starts at Rs 1,04,999 (ex-showroom), and the 9.1 kWh variant starts at Rs 1,54,999.

Fourth is the Avore EX1, with a 3.24 kWh battery, a claimed range of up to 160 km and a top speed of 100 km/h. Its digital cockpit shows navigation and trip information, while the connected system provides battery health monitoring, vehicle diagnostics, safety alerts and ride information. It can be charged at home from an ordinary electric socket. The introductory ex-showroom price for the first 10,000 customers is Rs 1,24,999, after which the regular price will be Rs 1,34,999.

Fifth is the Odysse Electric Evoqis Lite, which stresses sporty styling and compact size. It has a riding range of 90 km and a top speed of 75 km/h, making it better suited to short city trips and daily use. The battery takes about 6 hours to charge from 0 to 100%. The Evoqis is priced at Rs 1.18 lakh (ex-showroom).

The highest claimed range on the list is for the 9.1 kWh variant of the Ola Roadster X+, at up to 500 km IDC range. Real-world range can vary with road conditions and riding style. Before buying, check the price, real-world range, battery capacity, charging time, performance, warranty and your daily travel needs. Buyers should also ask the company about home charging, the time needed and the socket required.
