Data update on Pavitra Portal speeds up teacher recruitment in Nagpur civic schools
Nagpur civic body updates decades of pending teacher data on the Pavitra Portal, clearing the way for faster recruitment in its schools.
The obstacle that had held up teacher recruitment in schools run by the Nagpur Municipal Corporation for years now appears to be clearing. The corporation's education department has finally completed updating data on the Pavitra Portal, opening the way for the recruitment process to move forward.
The problem was that key information on appointments, retirements and teachers' service records in civic schools from 1997 to March 2026 had never been updated on the portal in time, repeatedly creating practical hurdles in recruitment. The corporation has now updated the required data for classes 9 and 10 and entered the pending information on the portal. The education department said accurate, updated data on the Pavitra Portal is essential for recruitment, since it determines the status of vacant posts and staff service details. The process had been stalled because the data had not been updated for a long time. Given the seriousness of the issue, the department made this data update a priority under the guidance of Mayor Neeta Thakre.
With the class 9 and 10 data now updated, the remaining data of the secondary section is also being updated rapidly, with a target of completing it in about a month. Alongside this, work has also begun on updating the Pavitra Portal data for the corporation's primary section. With technical and administrative hurdles to recruitment being cleared, vacant posts in civic schools are expected to be filled soon, giving schools the teachers they need and improving arrangements for children's education. This progress in fixing data that had been stuck for nearly three decades is being seen as significant for the education department.
In the first phase of recruitment, appointment letters have already been given to 14 teachers, while the scrutiny process is underway for 3 teachers. Recruitment for the remaining 40 posts at the concerned schools will proceed in the next phase. Additional Commissioner Muruganantham M., Deputy Commissioner Dr Meghna Vasankar, Education Officer Amit Bhadane, Deputy Education Officer Subhash Upase and other officers and staff of the education department made important contributions to this work. Mayor Neeta Thakre and Municipal Commissioner Dr Vipin Itankar have praised the education department's efforts on this progress.
