After passing Class 12, lakhs of students worry about their careers, and many struggle when choosing a graduation course. Some pick a course by looking at the college and the cut-off, while others follow friends or relatives. Neither approach is right. Students should choose a course neither on the cut-off nor on the college, but according to their interest. One such option is BA Honours Psychology.
Very few colleges in Delhi University offer BA Honours Psychology. The course is taught at Daulat Ram College for Women, Indraprastha College for Women, Jesus and Mary College, Kamala Nehru College, Keshav Mahavidyalaya, Lady Shri Ram College, Zakir Husain College and Aurobindo College. Besides DU, the course can also be done at Jamia Millia Islamia. In this three-year course, students study several subjects of psychology, including human psychology and many other interesting topics.
After completing BA Honours Psychology, students do not stop there. They can go on to a master's degree. A master's or PhD in specialised areas such as clinical psychology, counselling psychology or organisational behaviour is also open to them. In today's competitive times, psychology graduates are also in great demand in corporate companies for human resources and employee welfare.
After the course, one can become a psychologist. One can also enter the field of education. Research can be a good option too, and there is a chance to work in social service. Psychologists are now needed in NGOs as well, where they study the behaviour of children and women who have been victims of abuse.
Overall, psychology is becoming an excellent career option for students, with countless opportunities to build a future.
