A "Art, Skills and Career Guidance Workshop" was organised for students at the Zilla Parishad Upper Primary School, Lakhmapur. The workshop was held under the government's "Seva Sankalp Abhiyan 2026", and its aim was stated to be strengthening the vision of "Viksit Bharat 2047". The children showed considerable enthusiasm throughout the programme.
Chhagan Nivalkar, a former student of the school, was invited as the chief guide. Nivalkar was recently selected for the post of "Tax Assistant" through the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC). The students were delighted to see a successful alumnus before the children of the very school in which he studied and rose.
Nivalkar urged the children to study regularly from their school years, cultivate the habit of reading and develop arts and skills. He also explained in detail, in a simple and inspiring manner, how to begin preparing for competitive examinations. He instilled in the children the confidence that village children too can reach high posts through dedication and self-belief. The students listened to him with great curiosity and warmth.
The programme was presided over by Vinod Kshirsagar, the school's senior-grade headmaster, under whose leadership the initiative was carried out well. Notably, Nivalkar got the chance to return as a guide to the same school and the same teachers under whom he studied. Manda Urkude, who taught Nivalkar, was present. Also present were Shobhana Khaire, the science teacher known for new experiments, senior teacher Vinayak Phukat, Chavan, and Kartarsingh Alawat.
At the end of the programme, the headmaster, teachers and students honoured the former student and newly appointed officer Chhagan Nivalkar with a shawl, a coconut and a bouquet. The teachers conducted the programme and proposed the vote of thanks. The initiative is being widely praised by parents and villagers.
