Actor Resham Tipnis says she wants a "Shriman" in viral video, then shares wedding card clip

Resham Tipnis, a popular actor in Marathi and Hindi cinema, is the talk of social media. A video of hers has gone viral, in which she says plainly that she now wants a "Shriman" and is looking for a partner.

She posted the video herself on Instagram and it drew a big response. Within three days she shared a video of a wedding invitation, which caused a stir.

In the first video, Tipnis spoke from the heart. She said, "I am an independent woman, a strong woman. Many times in life I have fallen, stumbled, but I picked myself up again and got back to work. But now I feel something different. After working all day, when I go home in the evening and open the door, there is nobody waiting for me. The house is empty."

She went on, "Now I feel I need someone who will open the door when I ring the bell. Who will give me a nice warm hug and a hot cup of coffee. I will tell him how my day went and he will listen quietly. I want such a person in my life now. I am looking for that same Shriman. All of you wish that I meet my Shriman as soon as possible." Her words struck a chord with many women. However successful one is at work, everyone wants someone of their own at home in the end.

After the video, speculation on social media centred on whether she was getting married again. The next day she posted a new video showing a wedding invitation.

The card reads "Shriman and Shrimati" and also "Do come to our wedding". In the video, she is seen placing the card before the deity and seeking blessings. The video has increased people's confusion. It is still not clear whether she is really getting married or whether it is part of a new project.

Tipnis is no newcomer. She has played both comic and serious roles with ease, in Marathi films as well as Hindi serials. In 2018 she was a contestant in the first season of Bigg Boss Marathi and reached the semi-finals. Her real life came to the fore through that show.

In 1993, at the age of 20, she married actor Sanjeev Seth. The two separated in 2004. They have two children, Rishika and Manav.

She has raised both children alone for many years and struggled a great deal as a single mother. Many people agree with her wish for a partner again. Fans have sent her warm wishes, with comments hoping she finds her Shriman soon. It will become clear soon whether the card is real or only a promotion.
