Newly elected MLC Adv Abhijit Wanjari says better planning, workers' hard work and grassroots contact won him the Nagpur graduates' constituency election.
Newly elected legislator Adv Abhijit Wanjari spoke about his poll strategy after winning the Nagpur graduates' constituency election. Wanjari said the win came down to better planning, the hard work of party workers and the contact built at the grassroots.
Wanjari said that winning any election in Nagpur district requires planning, contact with people, and the support and backing of the organisation. According to him, the outreach campaign was continued this time as in the previous election. He also said the job fairs held every year in every district for youth employment proved effective.
On the party's role, Wanjari said the party gave full support in the election. He said the outreach campaign had been on from the start, but it gathered pace after the voter registration process.
On the workers' contribution, Wanjari said workers, including office-bearers, helped personally and the victory was theirs. He said the planning involved several factors. New voters were enrolled and then kept in touch with until polling day. Contact was also maintained continuously with professors in schools and colleges. According to Wanjari, this calculated planning paid off handsomely.
Wanjari said the planning this time followed the strategy drawn up for his first election, but the challenge was greater. He said there was confidence, yet they kept testing the ground reality. He had anticipated that the electoral equations would change, and preparations were made accordingly.
As part of this preparation, office-bearers and workers were assigned different responsibilities. Wanjari said the resentment among office-bearers and workers at the party level was addressed and unity was maintained. According to him, this is why the maximum number of registrations could be achieved.
