MVA wins Nagpur graduates' constituency; Congress workers celebrate with firecrackers in Gondia

The Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) has won the Nagpur graduates' constituency. As soon as the victory of the alliance candidate, Adv. Abhijit Wanjari, was declared, enthusiasm among Congress workers peaked across Vidarbha. The scene was visible in Gondia on Thursday afternoon, October 29, where Congress workers and office-bearers came out on the streets and celebrated the victory with great enthusiasm.

Congress workers gathered at the city's main chowk, where they paid floral tribute to the statue of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar. The area then echoed with slogans of "Kasa harvla... bhari maja aala". Loud slogans in support of Rahul Gandhi were also raised. To the beat of dhol and nagara drums, the workers set off loud firecrackers. They offered sweets to passers-by and to one another and exchanged greetings on the victory.

Leaders who took part in the celebration said the victory was the voice of democracy and of ordinary graduates. They said that in this election, held on ballot paper, educated young people and ordinary graduates had voted against the ruling policies and set the seal on change. They also said the MVA candidate had won on the strength of this public support.

Congress district president Amar Warade and city mayor Sachin Shende were present at the show of strength and celebration. District-level Congress office-bearers, corporators and a large number of workers were also there with them. Everyone came together to celebrate.

Thus, as news of the MVA's win in the Nagpur graduates' constituency arrived, workers in Gondia expressed their joy on the streets through firecrackers, slogans and the distribution of sweets. In the programme held in the afternoon, the workers did everything from paying tribute to Babasaheb to congratulating one another at a single place, the city's main chowk.
