Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation officials and employees will give a day's salary from October 2026 pay to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund, following the state's appeal.
Officials and employees of the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) will contribute one day's salary towards drought relief. The state government had appealed to government officials and employees for financial support to help farmers in distress, as the drought situation in Maharashtra is serious. Municipal Commissioner Dr Vijay Suryavanshi has issued an order in this regard. About Rs 2 crore will be deposited in the Chief Minister's Relief Fund.
The state government had asked all government officials and employees to donate one day's pay from their October 2026 salary to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund. As per the government circular, Dr Suryavanshi has issued formal directions to implement the decision at PCMC. The state government's appeal has thus become an official directive at the civic body level.
PCMC Chief Accounts and Finance Officer Satyawan Ubale said: "As per the municipal commissioner's directions, one day's salary of the corporation's officials and employees will be given for the relief of drought-affected people. About Rs 2 crore will be deposited in the Chief Minister's Relief Fund."
Under the order, one day's pay will be deducted from the October 2026 salary of all officials and employees working in the corporation. The deduction will be based on basic pay and dearness allowance taken together, which will determine a day's salary. The remaining salary will be paid to the employees concerned after the amount equal to one day's pay is deducted. The corporation's accounts department will carry out the entire process.
The order also says that employees who object to the deduction must submit their objection in writing within two days. It also clarifies that the deducted amount will not be less than the amount worked out as one day's salary.
About Rs 2 crore from the October 2026 salaries of the corporation's officials and employees will thus reach the Chief Minister's Relief Fund for drought-affected people.
