Pune, October 24, 2026: Young speakers gathered on one stage at TEDxTheOrbisSchool, celebrating imagination, confidence and the power of new ideas. The theme of the event was "Extra in the Ordinary". The children got a chance to speak, explore new perspectives and show that useful ideas can come from everyday experiences.
A total of 108 enthusiastic speakers took part in the selection process, and 18 of them were chosen to give talks on stage. Coming from different schools and aged between 12 and 18, the children showed through the event that it is important to give young people a chance to speak and to encourage them to put forward their ideas with confidence.
The speakers chosen were Divyansh Bohra, Armaan Ali Raj, Agrja Shelke, Shraddha Pagire, Dhruv Bhat, Anika Desai, Arham Sanghvi, Sara Dhariwala, Sara Soni, Sahasra Samayamantri, Savi Bogewar, Atharv Nema, Shaima Pathan, Atharv Arora, Shaurya Daga, Chaitanya Saini, Sachi Thadhani and Tanmay Bhardwaj. Each presented the world around them as they saw it. Their talks showed the courage to speak freely, the creativity to look for different perspectives and the wish to inspire others with their ideas.
The topics of the talks were varied. One speaker talked about the importance of gratitude, another about learning from failure. Sustainability, staying creative despite limitations, the value of small moments and finding worth in being average were also among the subjects. Every talk asked listeners to look afresh at familiar experiences and to recognise the possibilities that often escape notice in daily life.
Going beyond presentations, the event also celebrated the confidence and dedication needed to stand before an audience and speak. TEDxTheOrbisSchool stressed the value of expressing oneself, preparing and sharing one's perspective. The atmosphere was kept such that taking part and learning mattered as much as the talks themselves.
Dheeraj Gugle, an IDAS officer and Joint Director at NADFM, Pune, was the chief guest. Other dignitaries accompanied him. Their presence underlined the need to nurture young talent and to give students opportunities to learn skills beyond the classroom. The event encouraged participants to engage with different perspectives, strengthen their ability to think and evaluate, and appreciate a diversity of ideas.
The event was held successfully through the combined efforts of the organising team, teachers, student volunteers and support staff. Their coordination made the experience a good and engaging one for both speakers and audience.
TEDxTheOrbisSchool was not just an opportunity to speak on stage. It was a celebration of curiosity, original thinking and the impact of sharing ideas. The event strengthened the belief that meaningful change can begin with something as simple as a new perspective, a thoughtful question or a closer look at an everyday experience.
Celebrating individuality, creativity and young voices, the event showed that when children are given the courage to think differently, express themselves and be heard, ordinary moments can give rise to extraordinary ideas.
