Colaba recorded a minimum of 26 degrees Celsius and Santacruz 23 degrees on Saturday, with no rain at either observatory.
Mumbai recorded a slight rise in the minimum temperature on Saturday, November 7, according to data from the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Mumbai.
The minimum temperature at Colaba was 26 degrees Celsius, 1.9 degrees above normal. At Santacruz the mercury stood at 23 degrees Celsius, 1.1 degrees above normal. The night was slightly cooler at the Santacruz observatory than at Colaba.
According to IMD data, no rain fell at either Colaba or Santacruz during the 24-hour reporting period, with rainfall recorded as zero.
On air quality, data on the Central Pollution Control Board's SAMEER app showed Mumbai's overall AQI at 78 on Saturday morning. Under the national AQI categories, a reading between 51 and 100 is considered "satisfactory", while 101 to 200 falls in the "moderate" category. A reading of 78 therefore places the city's air in the satisfactory range. The fall in the AQI indicates that air quality has improved over the past 24 hours.
The improvement was not uniform across the city, however. Readings varied between monitoring stations, and pollution was in the moderate category at several locations. On the SAMEER app, Colaba's AQI was 78, Deonar's 126 and Andheri's 103. Borivali's AQI was 93, which falls in the satisfactory category.
The figures for Worli and Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) are unclear.
Air quality was not uniform across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) either. Thane's AQI was 96, in the satisfactory category. Navi Mumbai recorded an AQI of 136, in the moderate category. Kalyan's AQI was 77, also in the satisfactory category.
