The Home Department's order of November 2 transfers 16 police officers and extends the tenure of three senior Thane police officers by a year.
The Home Department has issued an order transferring senior IPS and RPS officers of the Maharashtra Police. A total of 16 officers have been transferred under the order. Three senior Thane police officers have also been given a one-year extension, which is being closely watched.
The Home Department issued the government order on November 2, 2026. According to the order, the decision was taken on the recommendation of Police Establishment Board No. 1.
The three officers who have received a one-year extension include Amarsing Jadhav, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Crime Branch, Thane city police. Prashant Kadam, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Zone 5, and Shivraj Patil of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Konkan range, have also received the same extension. This means the officers will continue in their present posts for another year.
