Maharashtra Cyber has once again summoned popular rapper and singer Yo Yo Honey Singh for questioning. He has reportedly been given two days to appear, and action may be taken against him if he does not.
Honey Singh is counted among the popular artistes of the Indian music industry. He gained wide recognition through songs such as "Blue Eyes", "Brown Rang", "Desi Kalakaar", "Angrezi Beat" and "Love Dose". He is now in the news over an alleged objectionable remark made during a concert.
The matter relates to one of his music shows. Objecting to what he said there, a complainant filed a complaint with Maharashtra Cyber. The department then began an inquiry into the matter.
The investigating agency wants to examine the allegations made in the complaint and gather information related to the case. For this reason, Honey Singh has been asked to appear for questioning.
According to sources linked to Maharashtra Cyber, Honey Singh has been summoned for questioning three times before. He is said not to have appeared before the officials. It is also being said that he could not take part in the questioning because he was abroad.
He had earlier been asked to appear on October 5, but did not turn up that day. He then sought more time to attend the questioning, according to information that has emerged.
All eyes are now on whether Honey Singh will appear for questioning. According to the information available, if he does not appear, the process of issuing a Look Out Circular (LOC) against him could begin.
A Look Out Circular can be used, under legal process, to keep track of a person leaving or entering the country. Whether such a circular has actually been issued against Honey Singh is not clear from the report. For now, it is only said that the process could begin if he does not appear.
