Work on the stalled renovation of the Mahabaleshwar Municipal Council's main administrative building has finally started on the ground. Residents had been watching the project for a long time. The building had stood incomplete and empty for several years, but it is now set to be given a new look, and a grand, modern administrative building will soon be put at the service of citizens.

Municipal Council President Sunil Shinde and Chief Officer Yogesh Patil's persistent follow-up cleared the technical and administrative hurdles and gave the work momentum.

The council's old building had become too small and administrative work was also growing, so a larger new building had been planned. However, technical difficulties, funds and other reasons kept the work stuck for several years. Political friction between the ruling side and the opposition also held up the work. The building lay unused in the middle of Mahabaleshwar, a town important for its history and tourism, which caused concern among citizens.

Taking the stalled project seriously, Council President Sunil Shinde and the councillors repeatedly pursued the matter with the government. Under the leadership of Relief and Rehabilitation Minister Makarand Aba Patil, Shinde made special efforts to obtain approvals from various departments, open the way for funds and remove technical flaws. These strenuous efforts have finally succeeded, and after administrative approval, construction of the building has begun in full swing.

The building will no longer be just an administrative office but a handsome landmark that adds to Mahabaleshwar's stature. It will have all modern facilities for citizens, fully equipped offices for various departments, a large auditorium and parking. This will speed up the council's work and allow citizens to get all their work done on time under one roof.

Meanwhile, local citizens, traders and political circles in Mahabaleshwar are warmly welcoming the work. Thanks are being given in particular to Council President Sunil Shinde, a leader of the ruling group, and his fellow councillors.

Council President Sunil Shinde said, "This building of the Mahabaleshwar Municipal Council is a main identity of the town. The work remained stalled for many years and citizens suffered because of it. But thanks to the hard work and persistence of all of us councillors and colleagues, the work is starting today, and I am happy about it from my heart. Our effort is that this building, which will give the people of Mahabaleshwar the best facilities, is completed as soon as possible."
