A video from the CJP protest in Delhi is widely circulating on social media. It shows a young woman trying to climb out of the window of a police van. She fails to get out, and her phone and bag also slip out of her hands.
It has been stated that the CJP had announced a new agitation to stop irregularities in elections and to raise its voice on the issue. After the success of the first agitation, protesters joined the second one with great enthusiasm too. But because of the police crackdown, the agitation ended almost as soon as it began. The police loaded everyone who had come to protest at Jantar Mantar into vans and took them to another location. The angry protesters then tried to free themselves by climbing out of the windows of the police vans.
A young woman made a similar attempt, but it cost her dearly. She passed her bag and phone through the window to the crowd gathered outside the van. As she herself began to climb out, the police caught her and took her back in the van. As a result, the woman could not get out of the van and, instead, also ended up handing her phone and bag to the people outside. It is being said that her mobile phone was lost amid the commotion and stampede.
A look at what happened in Delhi that day: Delhi Police had firmly refused permission for the agitation called by the Cockroach Janta Party on October 10, 2026. Delhi Police said that holding an agitation without permission was not acceptable, and deployed heavy security at the site. Barricades were put up all around, more than 45 metro stations were closed and several trains were cancelled. Internet services were also suspended in central Delhi.
After the agitation failed, CJP leaders, following their release, have said they will seek permission again for a peaceful agitation and intend to continue their struggle.
The video was shared through a social media post on October 11, 2026. The post said the girl was trying to escape from the police van after being detained and that someone stole her phone. The theft of the phone has set off a lively discussion on social media, and many users have commented on the video. One user wrote that she had come to the protest to look cool, but lost her bag and phone. Another wrote that she will never think of joining a protest again. Yet another wrote that she had come to show off, but would remember this loss all her life.
