Hero MotoCorp's electric mobility brand Vida handed over more than 600 scooters in a single city on Dhanteras and has been entered in the Asia Book of Records.

Vehicle showrooms across the country saw brisk business around Diwali and Dhanteras. Amid this, VIDA, the electric mobility brand of Hero MotoCorp, has set a new record. On Dhanteras, the company handed over more than 600 electric scooters to customers in a single city on a single day, and its name has been entered in the Asia Book of Records.

The deliveries took place in Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan. A record number of VIDA VX 2 scooters were delivered to customers in one day from the city's authorised VIDA Experience Centre. VIDA, which is fast gaining ground in the electric two-wheeler segment, appears to be strengthening its position in the Indian electric vehicle market.

It was not just Dhanteras but the whole of October that went well for VIDA. In October 2026, the company sold 29,958 electric vehicles, a rise of 81.6 per cent over last year. On the strength of this performance, VIDA has become India's fourth-largest electric two-wheeler company. Its market share has risen from 11.1 per cent to 13.6 per cent.

On the scooter itself, the VX 2 Plus has a top speed of 90 km per hour. It offers a removable battery option, which makes charging easier, and it has different riding modes.

On technology, the scooter has a 4.3-inch TFT display, which offers smartphone connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation and over-the-air (OTA) updates. There is 33.2 litres of storage space under the seat, and a combination of disc and drum brakes is provided for safety.

The VX 2 Plus comes with two battery options. The scooter with the 3.4 kWh battery has a range of 146 km on a full charge. With the 4.4 kWh battery, the range goes up to 187 km.

On running costs, the company claims that, assuming 15 km of travel a day and electricity at Rs 10 per unit, running the scooter for a year costs only Rs 1,564.
