Mahindra BE 7 electric SUV spotted testing in Mumbai's BKC, launch likely in 2027

Mahindra is preparing to expand its electric SUV portfolio. New spy images of the company's upcoming electric SUV, the Mahindra BE 7, have surfaced. The vehicle was seen fully camouflaged during testing in the BKC area of Mumbai. The pictures reveal several details about its design, features and likely specifications.

The design looks modern and futuristic. It gets new flush-deploying door handles that extend electrically. The SUV is likely to have frameless windows, a clamshell bonnet, large C-shaped lighting elements and wide wheel arches. It could be fitted with large 19-inch alloy wheels. It will be bigger than the BE 6 and have a more imposing presence. For safety and convenience, a concealed rear wiper and washer may be offered, while the charging port could be on the left side of the rear.

The cabin could get an attractive dashboard similar to the company's concept model. The driver will get a triple-screen setup, sporty seats and a new centre console. For passenger comfort, advanced features will include ventilated seats, powered seats, a 1,400-watt, 16-speaker Harman sound system, Adrenox connected technology and Level 2+ ADAS. Auto parking and premium ambient lighting will make the interior look richer.

On the battery front, the new EV is expected to get 59 kWh, 70 kWh and 79 kWh battery packs. The company claims the SUV can deliver a range of up to 700 km on a single charge, while its real-world range could be around 500 km. The rear-wheel-drive single-motor setup is likely to produce up to 282 BHP. A dual-motor, all-wheel-drive (AWD) option may also be offered.

The long-awaited electric SUV from Mahindra is highly likely to be officially launched in the Indian market in 2027. After launch, it could pose stiff competition in the country's electric SUV market.
