Mumbai-based Aptus Value Housing Finance reported a 19 per cent rise in half-yearly profit to Rs 528 crore, with assets under management up 20 per cent.

Aptus Value Housing Finance Limited, a Mumbai-based housing finance company, has reported a 19 per cent rise in its half-yearly profit, taking it to Rs 528 crore, the company said.

The company said its assets under management (AUM) grew 20 per cent to Rs 14,177 crore at the end of September. In the second quarter, the company had earned a profit of Rs 267 crore.

Loan disbursals also moved ahead. In the first half, Aptus disbursed loans worth Rs 2,206 crore, a 27 per cent increase. In the September quarter, it disbursed Rs 1,153 crore.

Return on assets stood at 7.7 per cent, while return on equity was 20.1 per cent.

Managing Director P. Balaji said the company is expanding its business in Maharashtra and Odisha. In the first half, it added 58 branches, taking its total to 397.

Competition in the housing finance sector is rising, and in this environment Aptus is focusing on expansion. Demand for home loans is growing in smaller towns and villages, which is giving the company new opportunities to grow. The company is strengthening its presence by offering easier loans to customers, adding branches and entering new markets. With its policy of widening its branch network in Maharashtra and Odisha, loan disbursals and the number of customers are expected to rise further in the coming days.
